A Stanford graduate has recently developed this technology, called the Intel Reader, for the dyslexic and visually impaired readers. This will allow them to scan entire pages of text and convert them into audio files, so that it can play it back immediately afterwards.

This device, which comes in a book size, can be able to capture text from sources like restaurant menus, newspapers and academic journals. These scanned texts can then be magnified and read on this same device. You can then listen to it through its onboard speakers and headphones. You can also convert and export is as an MP3 file.

If you have $35 million in your pocket, would you spend it on this 570MP camera? Probably not, but then again if you’re into all those science and geek stuff, you would absolutely love this car-sized digital camera with 74 CCD sensors in it.

This camera’s resulting sensor is one meter in diameter, which can cover a 2.2-degree field of view. And since images are so big, each photo will take about 17 seconds to acquire even with its ultra-fast data recording system.
