The one thing I hate most about eco-friendly gadgets is their dependency on solar rays. There are actually some countries where the sun doesn’t shine that much, so does that mean that they have no hope of ever gaining the advantages of solar technology?
Fortunately, someone thought that it is important to save as much energy as we can. The Illumicharger can collect and store energy from interior lightning and it offers free charging power to USB devices. It can be mounted on your wall, so that it directly receives power from your light sources. It also has two USB ports wherein you can plug your iPhone or iPod or other USB gadgets. The USB ports are indicated by a blue or purple LED.
This device has a charging speed of 5v@500mah with a 9,600mah capacity. No details on price or release date yet since this Illumicharger is currently just a finalist at the 2010 Greener Gadgets Design Competition.

Now THAT is a clever idea! Thanks for the post.
I read about 25 gadget blogs a day and this is the first time I’ve read about this gadget. Kudos.
