Lenovo Skylight Delays Launch

We were expecting the Lenovo Skylight to arrive this month but unfortunately, its launched has been delayed until July because the company is still working on some things for the Snapdragon-powered smartbook.

But just to give you a rundown of what’s in store for the Lenovo Skylight come July, here’s some notes regarding this smartbook:

The Simmtronic’s Simmbook has been in the industry for a few months now. But it isn’t until it got a partnership with companies IBM and Canonical that we really took a long hard look to it.

HP just unveiled another one of the netbook—the HP Mini 5101. And true to the company’s testament, this netbook packs in some pretty nice features in a sleek and stylish body.

This device got Intel Atom’s processors—a 7200 RPM hard drive or 80/128GB SSD—a two-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0 and a 10.1-inch, 1024 x 600 or 1366 x 768 LED display. It also has a four- or six-celled battery that is taunted to last up to eight hours.

With a weight of only 2.6 pounds, the HP Mini 5101 will go on sale next month for $449.

Entourage E-Reader & Netbook In One Will Be Available Next Week

Entourage has just announced that starting next week, its dual-screen eDGe will start shipping complete with the 9.7-inch E-ink screen on the left half and the touchscreen LCD screen on the right. This means, you can use this device as an e-book reader, a notepad and even as a regular netbook—all at the same time.

According to Doug Atkinson, vice president of marketing and business development, pre-orders received until January 12 will start shipping next week while new orders will ship this March. This device will come with a 4GB storage space, 2 USB ports and an SD card slot. It weighs only 2.5 pounds, and will retail for $490.

Remember last year’s super green cloud computer? Well, the same guys who made it are now coming out with a $99 netbook called the “Africa.”

Some people might, of course, question the performance of this netbook since it comes in too cheap compared with other netbook out in the market. But case in point, the Africa is actually quite heavy performance wise. It got a 400MHz processor, 256MB RAM and a 2GB flash memory. It runs on a 7-inch screen (800 x 480), USB 1.1, 2.0 ports and SD card support. It runs on either Linux or Windows CE  operating systems.
