Before we get into the solution of the Bluestacks stuck on initializing error, it’s good to know why this error occurs in your system. There can be numerous reasons for the error to pop up. Here are a few cases:
- You have the outdated .NET framework, and you haven’t updated it for a long time.
- The installed version of Bluestacks on your system is outdated (very common issue).
- You don’t have the admin privileges.
- In Windows XP and Windows 8, Bluestacks not initializing error is very common. In case, if you are using any of the OS, then you might face this error.
- Your PC configuration is not powerful enough to handle the load of Bluestacks software.
How to Solve Bluestacks Not Initializing Error?
There is no rocket science here, and you don’t need to be a core technical person to solve this error. It’s simple to solve within minutes once you understand the fundamentals. Follow the methods which I’m about to share with you (step-by-step), and you’ll be good to go.
Method 1: Update Bluestacks Software
Just after installing the app nobody cares to update it. Due to this reason, you start to see the Bluestack not initializing error. Also, when you frequently update the app, you get the latest features and bugs are fixed. Here’s how you can update the software:
Step 1: Download the latest version of Bluestacks from here.
Step 2: Install it.
Step 3: Now open this link and update your .NET Framework to the latest version.
Step 4: Install the .NET Framework latest version in your system.
Step 5: Restart the Bluestacks application and see your problem is resolved or not.
Just in case, if the problem isn’t resolved yet. Jump to the method number 2.
Method 2: Close Power Consuming Applications
As Bluestacks consumes a lot of CPU power, it’s good to force close all other heavy apps while using Bluestacks. This won’t be an issue if you have a high-end pc with top-notch configuration. However, if you have a mediocre PC configuration follow this steps to force close power consuming apps to solve the Bluestacks stuck on initializing error.
Step 1: Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+ESC)
Step 2: Now go to “Processes” and in the bottom right side of the corner click on the End Process button after selecting all the process.
Step 3: Relaunch Bluestacks and see if the error is gone or not.
If not yet, it’s time to check the next method.
Method 3: Reinstall Bluestacks
It’s the best way that works in most of the cases. In Windows OS half of the problems are resolved when you update or reinstall the apps. Here’s how you can reinstall Bluestacks to resolve the not initializing error.
Step 1: Head over to the Control Panel and follow this path Control Panel -> Programs -> Programs and Features -> Bluestacks.
Step 2: Right-click on Bluestacks and you’ll see an Uninstall option there. Click on the option and uninstall it.
Step 3: The software is not uninstalled fully yet. You need to delete all the below-mentioned folders.
C:\Program Files (x86)\BlueStacks or C:\Program Files\BlueStacks
Step 4: Once done, press the Windows + R key to open the Run dialog box and type %temp% and hit OK.
Step 5: A new folder will open where all your temporary files will be stored select them all and delete.
Step 6: Once everything is done perfectly, it’s time to reinstall Bluestacks.
The above method will probably solve the Bluestacks stuck at initializing error.
Method 4: Check Administrator Privileges
If the Bluestack not initializing error is occurring due to administrator privileges then this method is for you. Follow this simple steps, and within a couple of minutes you’ll have your Bluestacks up and running
Step 1: Head over to the directory where you have installed Bluestacks. Most of the times this will be your root directory C:// Drive>>Program Files (x86)>>Bluestacks.
Step 2: Search for HD-StartLauncher, right click on it and select properties.
Step 3: Now select the “Compatibility” tab. Next up, tick the option that says “Run this program in compatibility mode for:” now choose Windows 7 and hit OK.
Step 4: Once this is sorted, now select Security tab in that select Users and then click on Edit. Tick the first option that says “Full Control” option under Permission for Users list. Finally, click OK.
You’re done. Hopefully, this method might have resolved your Bluestack issue. If in case, it hasn’t try out the last method in the list.
Method 5: Run Bluestacks in Compatibility mode
This is the best method to try as it has solved the error for most of the users facing this problem. Give it a shot and you’ll get rid of this error.
Step 1: First of all, right click on the installed Bluestack icon and click on “Properties.”
Step 2: Next up go to the Compatibility tab and click on “Run Compatibility Troubleshooter” and check the box that says “Run this program in compatibility mode for:”
Step 3: Finally select the older version of Windows (the best option is to choose Windows 7) and click OK.
Note: Method 4 & 5 seems to be identical to each other but are not. Both the methods work differently.
